Dear Journal,

Father has been quiet lately, it's starting to make me wonder if what Alfred and I had done was punishment at all. He wasn't particularly interested in fighting us over it, either. I dare not succumb to my suspicions, but I fear one of my handmaids is responsible for his lackadaisical behavior. He's in the unkempt bowels of the facility of all places! Who should be so comfortable down there?

Among other things, I'm quite distraught with the way of the household. All of these visitors coming and going. Why has it grown hot all of a sudden? I think I shall go mad if something does not give.
